Summer Fires

7/3/2019 (Permalink)

The Fourth of July is around the corner as well as many summer cookouts and back yard fires. With many sparks that can be caused from a multitude of sources we all need to take extra steps to prevent house fires as well as wild fires. If you are using a grill that requires a tank make sure to always clean it, on both the tank part and the grilling surface. When finished with the grill cover it properly and store until its next use.

Backyard fires are a staple during the summer and fall months. We all love to roast hot dogs and s'mores on the open fire. When planning a fire be sure to check the local alerts to see where the fire level for the day is. If you are driving by a fire station they will always have a sign out front with the level of Low, Moderate, or High hung to let the public know. There is often a local social media page as well.

Every town and state is different regarding fire regulation. In the south there are quite a few stipulations as to how much to fire can be, how deep the base must be and whether or not it must be covered. In the Midwest there often are less regulations do to lower likelihood of wildfires spreading.

With all of your summer be sure to stay safe and call SERVPRO.
