When Does a Water Loss Happen?

3/29/2022 (Permalink)

When does a water loss happen? A water loss can happen just about anywhere, anytime. There are no set perimeters to when and where a water loss can happen.

A water loss can be caused from a washer overflow, a pipe leak or even wind driven rain. The biggest thing with a water loss is that you cannot prevent it unless it is due to lack of routing maintenance.

Sometimes washers malfunction and overflow affecting your home. Sometimes pipes that you cannot see become rusty and unstable leaving them vulnerable to leaks affecting you home and structure. Wind driven rain can go either way. Sometimes during a storm the wind can weaken the structure leaving it exposed to the rain damage, which leaves you with water damage and sometimes mold in your home as a result.

There are two things to remember to help with a water loss. The first thing to remember is to keep up on all maintenance of your home to prevent any damage possible. The second is that if or when you do have a loss, call SERVPRO immediately to lessen the damage to your home and get you back to normal as soon as possible.
